Batfa

Batfa is a village in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine, in Uzhhorod Raion. It is located near Uzhhorod within the sphere of influence of the oblast center. It is a small settlement whose role is primarily residential and local. Historically, it belongs to the group of villages on the western edge of Zakarpattia. Because of the local settlement pattern, it is closely connected with the district center and nearby villages. Its landscape shows a transition between hilly and lowland features. The Hungarian form of the name is part of local historical usage. Batfa has a present-day rural character with local infrastructure and community institutions. As a small settlement, its regional role is limited. Even so, it forms part of the dense settlement network characteristic of the Uzhhorod area.
