Arad County is located in the western part of Romania, within the regions of Crișana and Banat. Its administrative center is the city of Arad, situated on the banks of the Mureș River. The county borders Bihor County to the north, Alba and Hunedoara counties to the east, Timiș County to the south, and Hungary to the west. Covering an area of 7,754 km², Arad County is the fifth largest in Romania. The eastern part of the county is dominated by the Western Carpathians, including the Zărand and Codru-Moma mountain ranges, while the western part lies within the Pannonian Plain. The Mureș and Crișul Alb rivers flow westward through the county. The county's economy is diverse, with significant contributions from both industry and agriculture. The lowland areas are known for the cultivation of cereals, vegetables, vineyards, and orchards. Industrial activities include machinery manufacturing, automotive components, food processing, and textiles.
