The North Banat District Serbian:
The North Banat District (Serbian: Северно-Банатски округ / Severnobanatski Okrug) is an administrative unit in Banat and Bačka, located in the northern part of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Serbia. Its administrative center is Kikinda. The Location of Bačka The municipalities of Ada, Senta, and Kanjiža, despite being geographically located in Bačka, found themselves administratively placed within Banat from the creation of the administrative districts in 1992. Until 2011—when Kanjiža received its own license plates, while Senta and Ada shared one—they used the Kikinda license plate system. According to some opinions, the Milošević government aimed to divide the compact Hungarian community in North Bačka into two parts, as they did not want any district to have an absolute majority of a national minority. Addig mindhárom település a nagykikindai rendszámtáblát használta.
Buildings

The history of the Népkert (People's Park) in Magyarkanizsa dates back to the 1850s, when the local residents first began using it as a communal park. It was officially established in 1859 with the goal of providing a pleasant recreational space for the community.

The parish was founded in 1750. Prior to that, Franciscan monks from Subotica provided pastoral care in the area. The church itself was built in 1768. During the Hungarian Revolution of 1848–49, it was burned down in the siege of the town.

The central building of the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Primary School in Kanjiža was founded in 1890 at the initiative of Lajos Haynald, Archbishop of Kalocsa.

The town hall of Kanjiža, located in the center of the town, is one of the most emblematic buildings in the region. Its history, architectural style, and current role reflect the cultural and civic identity of the town.
