Tysaashvan
Tysaashvan is a settlement in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine, within Berehove Raion. It lies in the Tisza river borderland area near the Hungarian frontier. The village developed in a historically multiethnic region and is regarded as part of the Hungarian settlement network of Transcarpathia. A significant Hungarian community lives there. The settlement is known in Hungarian as Tiszaásvány and commonly appears in Ukrainian as Тисаашвань. Its local institutions support everyday village life, including municipal, educational, and religious functions. The surrounding area is characterized mainly by agriculture and small local businesses. Its transport links connect it primarily to nearby district centres and borderland routes. The settlement shows the landscape and village features typical of the lowland part of Zakarpattia. It is one of the local carriers of the region’s Hungarian cultural heritage.
