Tarnivtsi
Tarnivtsi is a village in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine, within Uzhhorod Raion. The settlement lies in the western lowland part of the region. Historically, it belongs to the group of villages in Transcarpathia with strong Hungarian connections. A Hungarian community still lives there today, while the wider area remains multilingual. Agriculture plays an important role in local land use and the village economy. The settlement’s appearance follows the traditional structure of Transcarpathian rural villages. Residents are closely connected to centres around Uzhhorod and to district infrastructure. Local institutions provide the basic framework of everyday village life. Tarnivtsi is long known in historical Hungarian usage by the name Daróc.
