Râu de Mori

Râu de Mori is a commune in Hunedoara County, Romania, located on the northern foothills of the Retezat Mountains. It lies on the western side of the Hațeg Depression and serves as an important gateway area toward Retezat National Park. Administratively, the commune includes several mountain and hill villages. Its territory and immediate surroundings contain many natural attractions. The areas of Gura Zlata and Râușor, among the well-known access points to the mountains, are reached from here. Villages belonging to the commune, including Clopotiva and Suseni, are also known for their historic and scenic setting. Near the commune stands the medieval Colt fortified church and other heritage linked to the Cândea family.
