Perechyn
Perechyn is a city in western Ukraine, in Zakarpattia Oblast, within Uzhhorod Raion. It is situated in the valley area of the Uzh River near the foothill zone west of Uzhhorod. The settlement serves as a small urban center for surrounding villages. Historically, it was connected with timber processing and other local industrial activities. Its central area fulfills administrative, commercial, and everyday service functions. Because of its location, it links upland and lowland parts of the region. Perechyn reflects the mixed ethnic and religious heritage characteristic of Zakarpattia. Its transport connections are especially important toward Uzhhorod. Under the current administrative system, the city belongs to Uzhhorod Raion. The surrounding landscape includes wooded and hilly terrain that shapes the town’s character. Today its role is primarily that of a local administrative and service center.
