Palad-Komarivtsi

Palad-Komarivtsi is a village in Zakarpattia Oblast, within Uzhhorod Raion in western Ukraine. It is situated in the lowland part of the region near the Hungarian border. The settlement is known in Hungarian as Palágykomoróc and in Ukrainian as Palad-Komarivtsi. Historically, it belonged to Ung County. Multilingualism and mixed ethnic composition remain characteristic features of the wider area. The village has a rural character and is surrounded mainly by agricultural land. Local institutions and religious traditions play an important part in community life. The settlement is also part of the Hungarian cultural heritage of Zakarpattia. Within the settlement network of Uzhhorod Raion, it is a smaller borderland village. Palad-Komarivtsi continues to exist as an inhabited locality in Ukraine.
