Onokivtsi
Onokivtsi is a village in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine, in Uzhhorod Raion. It lies immediately north of Uzhhorod and functions as part of the regional centre’s wider suburban zone. The village is the administrative centre of the Onokivtsi rural hromada. Its population is multiethnic, reflecting the diversity typical of this part of Transcarpathia. Local transport, employment, and services are closely connected with nearby Uzhhorod. The surrounding landscape belongs to the foothill edge of the Uzh lowland area. Roads from the village provide access toward Nevytske Castle, giving the area some tourism importance. Local institutions are linked both to the hromada administration and to the district centre in Uzhhorod. The present-day settlement has a mainly residential character with local services and strong urban influence from the nearby city. Because Zakarpattia is a borderland region, cross-border links are important in the broader area. Onokivtsi is a real, current rural settlement in western Ukraine.
