Nevytske

Nevytske is a village in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine, within Uzhhorod Raion. It is located near Uzhhorod and is best known as the settlement associated with Nevytske Castle. The ruins of the castle are the village’s most notable heritage monument and one of the best-known medieval fortifications in the region. The stronghold stands on a hill above the settlement and is an important destination for visitors to the Uzhhorod area. The village belongs to the Onokivtsi rural hromada. Its setting is wooded and hilly, giving the locality a distinctive landscape character. Nevytske is easily reached by road from Uzhhorod, which supports its role as an excursion destination. Village life today combines residential functions, tourism linked to the castle, and close ties to the nearby city. Because of the historic monument, Nevytske is one of the better-known small settlements of Transcarpathia. It is a real and current inhabited village in western Ukraine.
