Malyi Bereznyi

Malyi Bereznyi is an urban-type settlement in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine, within Uzhhorod Raion. It is situated near the Slovak border in the upper part of the Uzh valley. The settlement has long been one of the notable local centers of the historic Ung region. Today it serves as a small local center for surrounding mountain and valley communities. Its location gives it importance in cross-border and regional transport connections. Forested slopes and river landscapes define the setting of the settlement. The local economy is shaped mainly by services, small-scale trade, and links with the surrounding rural area. In Hungarian usage, the settlement is traditionally known as Kisberezna.
