Kholmok
Kholmok is a village in Ukraine's Zakarpattia Oblast, within Uzhhorod Raion. The settlement lies in a lowland environment associated with the Tysa plain, not far from Uzhhorod and Chop. Its location makes access to nearby road and rail connections important for residents. The local population has traditionally been engaged in agriculture, household farming, and local services. As in other borderland settlements of Zakarpattia, the village has been shaped by changes in state borders and cultural frameworks. The Hungarian form of the name is Holmok, which is also the historical Hungarian place-name. Administratively, the settlement is part of Uzhhorod Raion today. Although it retains a rural character, everyday life is strongly influenced by links with nearby towns. The landscape around it includes arable land, smaller watercourses, and village green areas.
