Istvánvölgy (Hajdučica)

Istvánvölgy (Serbian: Хајдучица / Hajdučica, German: Heideschütz) is a village in Serbia, located in the South Banat District of Vojvodina. Administratively, it belongs to Zichyfalva Municipality.


Demographic Changes

Until the end of World War II, the village had a relative German majority, with significant Slovak, Hungarian, Serbian, and Romanian minorities. After the war, the Germans were deported, and Serbs and Macedonians were settled in their place. Over time, the Romanian population has almost completely disappeared from the village.
