Băița
Băița is a settlement in Hunedoara County, Romania. In this county the name refers to a commune whose administrative center bears the same name. The area belongs to the central-northern part of the county. Băița lies in a setting associated with the historic mining districts of Transylvania, and the name is known for the mining past of the surrounding area. It currently functions as a commune center rather than a town. The commune includes several smaller villages. Its present-day character is shaped by rural built form, local administrative functions, and a hilly to low-mountain setting. Both the natural landscape and traces of historical mining are important in the area. Băița is one of the smaller but clearly identifiable settlements of Hunedoara County.
